Kids

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

– Jesus (Matthew 19:4)

Kids

At North Coast, we love kids!

When Jesus walked on earth he made sure that the little children felt welcome and included. At North Coast we believe Jesus cares about children, and has incredible things to say to them. That’s why we teach kids what Jesus said in a fun, safe and engaging environment.

We have three main programs especially for kids at North Coast:

  • North Coast Kids (Sundays during the 9:30am and 5pm services, check-in opens 15 minutes prior)
  • Coasters (Thursdays, 4:00pm-5:00pm)
  • Winterfest (a four-day kids club in the first week of the July school holidays)

Each of our kids’ programs are run by staff and volunteers who receive ongoing training, possess a Working With Children Check, and have signed our Ministry Code of Conduct.

North Coast Kids

Sundays at North Coast Church

Children are welcome at North Coast! We aim to show all of our North Coast Kids the wonderful worth and work of Jesus by teaching the Bible to them in a Christ-centred, clear and engaging way.

North Coast Kids especially caters for children aged 2 years old to turning 11 years old this year. If you have children turning 12 years or older, check out our North Coast Youth page to learn about our Sunday and Friday night Youth programs.

On Sundays, parents are asked to accompany their children to their class before the church service and check them in. Our North Coast Kids rooms are open 15 minutes prior to the start of the service. North Coast Kids teachers and assistants will greet you and help your children to settle in. At the close of the service, all children must be checked out by the same adult who completed the check-in process.

North Coast Kids 9:30am

We currently run three different North Coast Kids classes during our 9:30am service, with Check-in opening at 9:15am near the main entrance to the foyer.  Our Connect Team members will be happy to assist you in finding the location of each classroom. Please let either a Connect Team member or one of our North Coast Kids teachers know if your child has any special needs or concerns.

North Coast Kids 5pm

Children are welcome at our 5pm service!  Check-in opens at 4:45pm near the stairs, leading down to our kids’ area in the downstairs Dance Studio.  We cater for kids aged 2 to 10 years.  Our time together includes a free dinner served to all the children, followed by an engaging class time involving singing, games, a Bible story and craft activities.

Click here to see our current dinner menu.  Sorry, we are unable to cater for specific dietary requirements.  If your child has allergies or food intolerances, feel free to send a separate meal which your child can eat during mealtime.  Please note this menu is subject to change, sometimes at short notice.  If you have any queries or concerns about food served at the 5pm service, please contact Laura Hurley on 0431 964 260 or by email.  While all care is taken to avoid nuts and nut products in our meals, we cannot guarantee that all our ingredients are free of nut traces.

Our North Coast Kids Teachers and Assistants all hold a valid Working With Children Check. They aim to present Bible lessons to the children in a fun and interactive way that may involve singing, games, craft, drama, memory verses, activities, worksheets, and a variety of other teaching tools.

Please feel free to contact our Children’s Ministry Pastor, Brendan Hurley.

Creche

Babies

For babies and toddlers aged 0 to 23 months, we provide supervised childminding during our 9:30am North Coast Church services.  Our creche opens at 9:15am each Sunday, but parents are welcome to bring their children into the creche at any point during the service.

Before leaving your children in our care, we’ll ask you to leave your contact details on the Sign In form so we can SMS you during the service if your child needs attention.

We know babies can sometimes be unsettled when they know their parents are leaving.  Although you are welcome to stay in creche with your child, we would love you to be able to enjoy the service and be fed from God’s Word, and leave the child-minding to our dedicated volunteers.  If your child is unsettled, our volunteers will gladly care for them and attempt to settle them, and will contact you if your child doesn’t calm down.

Although we don’t offer a supervised crèche during our 5pm service, our crèche room is still available for parents needing somewhere to settle crying babies.

Breastfeeding mothers are welcome to feed their baby anywhere that is comfortable for them, but for those who would like a little more privacy, our creche is a good place to sit and feed.

Coasters

Coasters

THURSDAY afternoons

Everyone from Kindy-Year 6 is invited to come and bring a friend to Coasters: our North Coast Kids’ Club.

Coasters runs every Thursday of school term from 4:00-5:00pm (though kids are welcome to come early at 3:30pm) at the North Coast Ministry Centre (15 Moolanda Boulevard, Kingsley).

We’ll enjoy snacks, songs, and activities together – and hear how great Jesus is!

Winterfest

The best way to spend your school holidays!

Winterfest

Holiday Kids’ Club

Coming to Winterfest is the best way for you to spend your July school holidays!  Winterfest runs every year in the first week of the July school holidays, from Tuesday to Friday, 9:00am to 12:30pm.  It’s aimed at kids in Pre-Primary to Year 5, although kids in Kindy or Year 6 are also welcome to come along!

Each year we base our program around a different theme, and every day we use songs, games, dramas, crafts, talks and small group discussions to teach us more about our amazing King Jesus!

Our whole church gets behind this huge event by donating supplies and volunteering – each year over 100 people are involved in making Winterfest happen.

Keep an eye on our weekly email newsletter to find out more about registering or volunteering at Winterfest, or follow us on our Winterfest Facebook Page.
